Notes on Japanese genera of the Noctuidae was given. New genera Protomiselia, Xenotrachea, Bambusiphila were described. In addition, Six new species of Noctuidae, Hadena kogurei, Mythimna monticola, Apamea hikosana, A. kyushuensis, Euplexia splendida, Jambia japonica were recorded. Craniophora pacifica Filipjev, Gerbathodes paupera (Staudinger), Mamestra thalassina contrastata (Bryk) were also recorded for the first time from Japan.
