Descriptions of six new species of syrphidae from Japan. Endoiasimyia iidai sp.nov. from Mt. Takao, near Tokyo, Cynorrhina kyotoensis sp.nov. from Kyoto, Penthesilea takaoensis sp. from Mt. Takao, near Tokyo,nov., Brachypalpus nipponicus sp. nov. from Kamikochi Nagano Pref., Eumerus iidai sp. nov. from Mt. Takao, near Tokyo, and Narumyia narumii from Aoni, Aomori Pref. were recorded. in addition, A new species of Trypetidae, Euphranta longicauda sp. nov. was also described from Nagasaki Pref., Kyushu, Japan.
