Remarks	Callipareius (Callipareius) japonicus was recorded from Nakatsugawa-keikoku, Chichibu City, Saitama Pref., Kanto District, Japan, for the first time from the prefecture. An adult was found at the base of a living Stewartia pseudocamellia tree (Theaceae). It was observed inserting the abdominal apex into a hole supposedly made by a bark beetle (Scolytidae sp.).
